Sakita N. Sistrun, -MS, RD, CDCES- is a registered dietitian and nutritionist with over 20 years of experience in human clinical nutrition and research in both hospital and university settings.
She provides individualized medical nutrition therapy to individuals with obesity, diabetes, heart disease and other conditions with specialized nutrition needs. Her research experience spans the areas of glucose metabolism, diet analysis and the ketogenic diet.
Sakita obtained her undergraduate degree from University of Maryland Eastern Shore, her graduate degree from Penn State University and completed her dietetic internship at the University of Delaware. She believes that nutrition is the cornerstone of health, and uses a holistic 'food as medicine' approach.
